Job Description
Join Veolia’s pioneering team in Cleveland as a Battery Recycling Operative. We offer specialist, comprehensive training for all new hires, ensuring you develop the skills needed to safely and effectively operate advanced battery recycling equipment. Your role will be critical in processing various types of batteries, contributing directly to environmental protection and the recovery of essential materials. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment for the sorting, crushing, and processing of various battery types (e.g., lithium-ion, lead-acid, alkaline).
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct quality checks on incoming materials and outgoing recycled products.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery and work areas.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or process inefficiencies.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring proper storage and handling.
- Maintain accurate records of materials processed and operational activities.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures diligently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn equipment operation.
- Excellent team player with good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment (not required, but a plus).
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
