Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and reliable Bridge & Tunnel Toll Operators to join our team in Glasgow. This is a vital on-site government role involving shift work, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our toll points. As a Toll Operator, you will be the front-line representative of the Greater Glasgow Transport Authority, providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, and contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of our transport network. Full training will be provided to successful candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect tolls from drivers accurately and efficiently, handling various payment methods (cash, card, electronic tags).
  • Provide clear and concise information to drivers regarding tolls, directions, and potential traffic disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and complete daily cash reconciliation procedures.
  • Operate toll booth equipment, including gates, intercoms, and surveillance systems.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve minor issues with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, reporting any incidents or concerns immediately.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors during assigned shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assist with traffic management as required during peak times or incidents.
  • Ensure the toll booth area is clean and well-maintained.
