Job Description

Join GrainCorp for the upcoming harvest season as a Bulk Grain Shoveller! This is a physically demanding yet rewarding role essential to our grain receival and storage operations across regional Victoria. While this role is managed and recruited from our Footscray office, successful candidates will be deployed to various regional sites where grain is received and stored. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement and management of bulk grain, contributing directly to Australia’s agricultural backbone. No prior experience is necessary, as full training will be provided to all successful candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently shovel bulk grain within storage facilities, bunkers, and silos.
  • Assist with general site clean-up and maintenance, ensuring a tidy and safe work environment.
  • Monitor grain flow and assist with the movement of grain using various equipment.
  • Support the operational team with other tasks as required during peak harvest periods.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily operational targets.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor, including repetitive lifting and shovelling.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic, with availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, during the harvest season.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety and following all operational guidelines.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in dusty conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a physical labor role or agricultural setting (not essential, but valued).
  • Current driver's license and reliable transport (essential for regional site access).
  • Current Forklift Licence (highly regarded, but not required).
