Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our dynamic Cardiology Department. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional looking to advance their career in a vibrant hospital setting. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in performing a wide range of diagnostic procedures, supporting cardiologists in patient assessment and treatment. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist with various cardiovascular diagnostic procedures, including echocardiography (transthoracic and transesophageal), stress echoes, Holter monitoring, and ECGs.
  • Operate and maintain specialized cardiac equipment, ensuring optimal performance and patient safety.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process clearly and addressing any concerns.
  • Accurately record and document patient data, test results, and observations in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated patient care.
  • Participate in departmental quality assurance programs and continuous professional development.
  • Maintain strict adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
  • Assist in training new staff members and students as required.

Required Skills

  • Accredited qualification in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist.
  • Proficiency in performing and interpreting echocardiograms (TTE, TEE).
  • Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety.
  • Eligibility for professional registration in the UK (e.g., RCCP or equivalent, support will be provided for this).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced cardiac imaging certifications (e.g., BSE Accreditation for Echocardiography).
  • Experience with other cardiac diagnostic modalities (e.g., cardiac catheterization lab support, EP studies).
  • Prior experience in an NHS setting.
  • Proficiency with electronic patient record systems (e.g., Lorenzo, Cerner).
