Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Carpet Fitter Mate to join our busy team in Guildford, Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to learn the trade of carpet and flooring installation from experienced professionals. As a Fitter Mate, you will work alongside our skilled Senior Fitters, assisting them on various domestic and commercial projects. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal entry point for individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to develop a valuable craft.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior fitters with the installation of carpets, underlay, and other flooring types.
- Help prepare subfloors by cleaning, removing old flooring, and ensuring surfaces are ready for installation.
- Handle and transport flooring materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Measure and cut underlay and carpet as directed by the Senior Fitter.
- Support with trimming, tucking, and finishing techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Interact professionally with customers, ensuring a positive experience.
- Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations.

- Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials.

Preferred Qualifications
