Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Cattery Hand to join our dedicated team on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves cats and is looking for flexible shifts in a rewarding environment. The work is straightforward, focusing on the daily care and wellbeing of our feline guests. Full training will be provided, so no prior professional experience is necessary – just a genuine love for animals and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Feeding cats according to their specific dietary requirements and schedules
- Cleaning and sanitising cattery enclosures, litter trays, and common areas daily
- Providing fresh water and comfortable bedding for all cats
- Engaging in play and cuddle time with cats to ensure their socialisation and happiness
- Monitoring the health and behaviour of cats, reporting any concerns to management
- Assisting with basic grooming tasks as needed
- Maintaining accurate records of feeding, medication, and animal behaviour
- Ensuring the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the cattery facility
Required Skills
- Genuine love and compassion for animals, especially cats
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong attention to detail in cleanliness and animal observation
- Physical capability to perform duties, including lifting and standing
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous personal experience caring for cats
- Basic understanding of animal behaviour
- Local residency in Dubbo or surrounding areas
- Availability for varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays
