Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Claims Manager to lead our claims team in Plymouth. This vital role involves overseeing the entire claims lifecycle, ensuring efficient, fair, and customer-centric resolution for a diverse portfolio of insurance products. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of claims handlers, developing strategies to optimize claims processes, and maintaining high standards of service delivery while adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies. You will be a key player in shaping our claims strategy and contributing to our customer satisfaction goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of claims professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee the end-to-end claims management process, from first notification of loss to settlement.
- Develop and implement claims strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.
- Manage complex or high-value claims, providing expert guidance and resolution.
- Analyze claims data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments, including underwriting and legal, to ensure seamless operations.
- Prepare and present regular reports on claims performance and departmental metrics.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims management within the insurance industry.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience in coaching and developing staff.
- Excellent understanding of insurance principles, claims processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACII qualification or working towards it.
- Experience with a variety of insurance products (e.g., motor, property, liability).
- Project management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
