Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Clothing Alteration Assistant to join our team in Chichester. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn the art of garment alteration and contribute to our commitment to customer satisfaction. You will work closely with experienced tailors, assisting with various alteration tasks and learning valuable skills in a supportive retail setting. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals with a basic interest in sewing and a keen eye for detail, even without professional experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior tailors with garment alterations, including hemming, mending, and minor repairs.
- Operate domestic and industrial sewing machines under supervision (training provided).
- Take accurate measurements and mark garments for alterations.
- Press and finish altered garments to a high standard.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workstation.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service during fittings and alteration consultations.
- Adhere to company policies and quality standards for all alterations.
- Assist with inventory management of alteration supplies.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of sewing techniques (e.g., hand sewing, familiarity with a sewing machine).
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
