Job Description
Are you ready to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced cold storage environment? We are seeking dedicated Cold Storage Pickers to ensure the accurate and efficient handling of temperature-sensitive goods. In this critical role, you will be responsible for picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment within our state-of-the-art freezer facilities. We understand the unique challenges of working in such conditions, which is why we offer premium freezer pay rates and provide all necessary high-quality thermal gear to keep you warm and safe. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role, including safe operation of warehouse equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack temperature-sensitive products according to order specifications.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently after receiving training.
- Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy through careful handling and scanning of items.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene protocols within the cold storage environment.
- Conduct quality checks on products and packaging before dispatch.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet daily targets.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to work comfortably and safely in sub-zero temperatures for extended periods (with provided gear).
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move packages up to 20kg.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and completing paperwork.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cold storage environment is a plus but not essential.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or handheld scanners.
- Valid MHE license (reach truck, counterbalance) is advantageous, but full training can be provided.
