Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Property Management Bookkeeper. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start a career in finance and property management with no prior bookkeeping experience required. You will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and contributing to the smooth running of our property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily data entry of financial transactions, including rent payments, vendor invoices, and other charges.
- Assist with basic reconciliation of tenant ledgers and bank statements.
- Process and track accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Maintain organized digital and physical financial records.
- Prepare and distribute basic financial reports as needed.
- Communicate effectively with tenants and vendors regarding billing inquiries.
- Support senior bookkeepers and accounting staff with various tasks.
- Adhere to company policies and accounting best practices.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new software systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude and eagerness to work in a team environment.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some coursework or a certificate in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles (debits/credits).
- Experience with Yardi, AppFolio, or other property management software (not required, training provided).
