Job Description
British Airways is seeking highly skilled and dedicated Commercial Airline Pilots (Captain or First Officer) to join our esteemed flight crew. This critical role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our modern fleet, ensuring the highest standards of safety, customer service, and operational excellence on domestic and international routes. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial aircraft in accordance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Perform comprehensive pre-flight checks, manage flight plans, and monitor aircraft systems during flight.
- Ensure strict compliance with all air traffic control instructions and international aviation regulations.
- Lead and manage the flight deck crew, fostering a professional and collaborative environment (Captain roles).
- Maintain effective and clear communication with ground control, cabin crew, and passengers.
- Execute emergency procedures calmly and effectively when required, prioritizing safety.
- Adhere to strict flight schedules and adapt to dynamic operational changes efficiently.
- Complete accurate and timely flight documentation and reports.
Required Skills
- Valid ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) or CPL (Commercial Pilot License) with Frozen ATPL for First Officer applicants.
- Current Class 1 Medical Certificate, valid and unrestricted.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours total flying time, with at least 500 hours on multi-engine commercial aircraft (specific hour requirements will vary by Captain/First Officer role and aircraft type).
- Type rating on a modern commercial jet aircraft (e.g., Airbus A320 family, Boeing 737/787) preferred, or ability to obtain one through company training.
- Excellent command of the English language (ICAO Level 4 or higher).
- Right to work in the UK or eligibility for visa sponsorship.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current type rating on a British Airways fleet aircraft.
- Extensive experience flying in diverse weather conditions and complex international airspace.
- Proven leadership experience in a flight deck environment (especially for Captain roles).
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Science, or a related field.
