Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Community Transport Driver to provide essential transportation services for seniors and individuals with mobility challenges within the Dandenong area. This role is crucial in helping our clients maintain independence, attend medical appointments, participate in social activities, and access community services. You will be responsible for operating various vehicles safely, assisting passengers with care, and ensuring a comfortable and secure journey for every client. Your empathy and excellent driving skills will directly contribute to enhancing the quality of life for our valued community members.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport clients to appointments, social activities, and shopping centers throughout the Dandenong area.
• Assist clients with boarding and alighting vehicles, including the safe management of mobility aids such as wheelchairs and walkers.
• Adhere strictly to scheduled routes and timelines, demonstrating flexibility to accommodate individual client needs when necessary.
• Maintain company vehicles in a clean, tidy, and presentable condition, promptly reporting any mechanical or maintenance issues.
• Ensure the utmost safety and well-being of all passengers during transit, following all road safety regulations and company policies.
• Provide friendly, empathetic, and compassionate assistance to all clients, fostering a positive and supportive experience during their journeys.
• Accurately maintain trip records, mileage logs, and client interaction notes as required.

Required Skills

• Current and valid Australian Driver's License (minimum Class C).
• A clean and verifiable driving record.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and understanding approach.
• Proven empathy and a compassionate attitude towards seniors and individuals with disabilities.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle operation and ability to perform minor pre-trip checks and basic maintenance (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure).
• Good geographical knowledge of the Dandenong and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care or Disability) or a similar relevant qualification.
• Previous experience in community transport, aged care, or working with vulnerable populations.
• Ability to speak a second language commonly used within the diverse Dandenong community (e.g., Vietnamese, Punjabi, Greek, Mandarin).
