Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Admissions Director to lead our university’s admissions efforts. This pivotal role involves strategic planning, oversight of all admissions processes, and ensuring UCR attracts and enrolls a diverse and academically strong student body. The Director will manage a team of admissions professionals, develop innovative recruitment strategies, and collaborate closely with academic departments and student affairs to achieve enrollment goals. This position is open to candidates who may require sponsorship, demonstrating our commitment to a global talent pool.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic enrollment plans to meet university goals for undergraduate and graduate admissions.
  • Oversee all aspects of the admissions process, including application review, candidate evaluation, and offer communication.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of admissions counselors and support staff.
  • Design and execute innovative recruitment strategies, including virtual and in-person events, outreach programs, and digital campaigns.
  • Analyze admissions data, market trends, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to enhance the university's brand and appeal to prospective students.
  • Build and maintain relationships with high schools, community colleges, and educational organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with all university policies, federal regulations, and ethical standards related to admissions.
  • Manage the admissions budget effectively and allocate resources strategically.
  • Represent the university at various recruitment events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in university admissions, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful enrollment strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Slate, Salesforce) and admissions software.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Education, Business Administration, or Communications.
  • Understanding of higher education trends, policies, and best practices in student recruitment.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in admissions practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with international student recruitment and understanding of visa processes.
  • Proven track record of managing and optimizing an admissions budget.
  • Familiarity with the University of California system and its unique admissions requirements.
