Job Description

J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our dynamic team in Moncton, New Brunswick. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of cranes (e.g., hydraulic, lattice boom, overhead) safely and efficiently, following all operational procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Load, unload, and move materials, equipment, and structures on construction sites.
  • Inspect cranes and rigging daily to ensure proper working order and compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Work closely with site supervisors, riggers, and other team members to coordinate lifting operations.
  • Read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and hoisting signals.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, provincial regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with ground crew and supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Valid Crane Operator certification for the province of New Brunswick (or ability to obtain).
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial setting.
  • Thorough understanding of crane operations, load charts, rigging techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to work effectively in varying weather conditions and demanding environments.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all operational procedures.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multiple types of cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS).
  • Experience working on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
