Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Delivery Driver and become the friendly face of Tesco for our online customers in Bath. You’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering groceries, ensuring orders are accurate and customers receive their products with a smile. This role requires excellent driving skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to work independently to meet delivery schedules. Full training on our systems and delivery processes will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company delivery vehicle to transport groceries to customer homes.
- Verify order accuracy against delivery manifest and customer receipt.
- Provide exceptional customer service at each delivery point, addressing inquiries politely and efficiently.
- Load and unload delivery vehicle, ensuring products are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic operational checks of the delivery vehicle.
- Collect payments from customers where necessary and handle cash/card transactions accurately.
- Report any delivery issues, vehicle concerns, or customer feedback to the store management.
- Manage time effectively to ensure all deliveries are completed within designated time slots.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Excellent driving record.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 20kg).
- Good geographical knowledge of Bath and surrounding areas.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or customer-facing role.
- Familiarity with handheld delivery devices.
- Clean driving record for at least 2 years.
