Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our thriving practice in Wrexham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional to contribute to excellent patient care within a well-established and supportive team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in preventative dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene, and performing clinical procedures to maintain and improve their oral health. You will work closely with our dentists and support staff to provide a seamless patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scaling and polishing, periodontal charting, and other preventative dental procedures.
- Provide oral hygiene instruction and education to patients, tailoring advice to individual needs.
- Administer topical fluoride applications and fissure sealants.
- Record patient medical and dental histories accurately.
- Collaborate with dentists on treatment plans and patient referrals.
- Maintain high standards of cross-infection control and clinical governance.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and sterilised.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and regulations.
Required Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene.
- Current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) or eligibility for GDC registration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Strong understanding of dental ethics and patient confidentiality.
- Proficiency in clinical dental hygiene procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Local anaesthetic qualification.
- Experience with SOE Exact dental software.
- Additional certifications in dental radiography or advanced periodontal therapy.
- Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
