Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dialysis / Renal Nurse to join our team in Chelmsford. This vital role involves providing direct patient care, managing dialysis treatments, and educating patients on their condition and care. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
- Educate patients and their families on renal disease, treatment options, and self-management techniques.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including documentation of care and treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate interventions as necessary.
Required Skills
- Valid NMC registration (Registered Nurse)
- Minimum of 1 year post-registration nursing experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in renal nursing or dialysis
- Post-basic qualification in renal nursing
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
