Job Description

Are you passionate about combating climate change and eager to contribute to innovative environmental solutions? Raven Industries is seeking a motivated and curious Direct Air Capture (DAC) Technology Intern to join our research and development team in Sioux Falls, SD. This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in a rapidly evolving field. No prior professional experience in DAC is required; we are looking for individuals with a strong desire to learn and contribute to groundbreaking technology. You will play a supportive role in our efforts to develop and optimize technologies for removing carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers and scientists in the design, setup, and execution of experiments related to Direct Air Capture technologies.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Support the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and testing systems.
  • Conduct literature reviews and research on emerging DAC technologies and best practices.
  • Contribute to the documentation of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions, sharing insights and learning from experts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related scientific/engineering field.
  • Demonstrated strong interest in climate change, environmental science, and sustainable technologies.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team-oriented laboratory setting.
  • Excellent attention to detail for data collection and experimental procedures.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn new concepts and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous academic or personal project experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with basic data analysis tools or software.
  • Understanding of fundamental chemical and physical principles relevant to gas separation or adsorption.
