Job Description
Are you looking for a stable, full-time role with weekly pay and early starts? XPO Logistics is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Drivers Mate / Porter in Jonesboro, AR. In this essential role, you will assist our drivers with the safe and efficient delivery of goods, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring all deliveries are completed successfully. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are physically fit, enjoy working as part of a team, and are eager to learn and grow within a leading logistics company. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods at various delivery points.
- Ensure the safe handling and transportation of all items, following company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing professional and courteous service.
- Verify delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures.
- Report any issues or discrepancies during deliveries to the driver or supervisor.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a tidy and organized work environment within the vehicle.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items safely and repeatedly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of customer service principles.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., warehouse, delivery assistant, manual labor) is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of local geographical area (Jonesboro, AR and surrounding areas).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
