Job Description

Oceanview Literary Press is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Editorial Assistant Intern to join our team in Newport, RI. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist editors with manuscript review, evaluation, and feedback.
  • Perform proofreading and copyediting tasks on manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, and style.
  • Conduct research for potential authors, titles, and market trends.
  • Prepare manuscript submissions for internal review and external communication.
  • Maintain editorial schedules and tracking documents.
  • Support the editorial team with administrative tasks, including correspondence and file management.
  • Learn and apply industry-standard style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style).

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
