Job Description
We are actively seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our dedicated team as a Part-time Loading Dock Hand at our Toowoomba distribution centre. This is an ongoing day work position, offering consistent shifts and the opportunity to be a vital part of our logistics operation. As a Loading Dock Hand, you will play a key role in the efficient movement of goods, including loading and unloading trucks, sorting freight, and maintaining a safe and organised dock area. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you have all the skills needed to succeed in this dynamic role.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload delivery trucks and trailers, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Sort and organise incoming and outgoing freight, parcels, and pallets according to established procedures.
- Verify the accuracy of shipments against manifests or invoices, reporting any discrepancies.
- Operate various warehouse equipment safely, including manual pallet jacks and other lifting aids (training provided).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised loading dock and surrounding work areas.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required to support team objectives.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and truck drivers to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing shipments.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following procedures.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations (full training will be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar fast-paced operational environment.
- Current forklift license (LF/LO class) is an advantage, but not essential.
- Experience with manual handling techniques and equipment.
