Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting entry-level opportunity to start a career in the growing field of energy efficiency? PNM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Energy Efficiency Home Auditor (Trainee) to join our team in Farmington, NM. This is a fantastic chance to learn valuable skills, with full training provided. You will play a crucial role in helping residents reduce energy consumption and save money by conducting comprehensive home energy audits. A company vehicle will be provided for all local travel. No prior experience is required – we will train the right candidate!
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site residential energy audits using specialized equipment and software.
- Identify areas of energy loss and inefficiency in homes (e.g., insulation, windows, HVAC systems).
- Collect data, take measurements, and document findings accurately.
- Explain energy-saving opportunities and recommendations to homeowners in a clear and professional manner.
- Prepare detailed audit reports with proposed improvements and estimated savings.
- Operate and maintain company-provided tools and vehicle responsibly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn and apply new technical information quickly.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Comfortable working independently and managing a local travel schedule.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and report generation.
- Physical ability to navigate attics, crawl spaces, and perform light lifting.
- Customer-focused attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in a customer service or field-based role.
- Basic understanding of residential construction or home systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
