Job Description
Are you a passionate and enthusiastic student looking to kickstart your career in the food industry? Arnott’s Group is seeking a dedicated Food Technology Intern to join our Quality Assurance & Safety team. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in maintaining and improving food quality standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to the safety of our beloved products. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning about our processes from raw materials to finished goods, and playing a vital role in our commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Support the QA team in monitoring and verifying critical control points (HACCP) and GMP compliance.
- Participate in sensory evaluation sessions to assess product attributes.
- Help maintain and update quality documentation, including specifications and audit reports.
- Assist in investigating and documenting non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.
- Learn about food safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the QA department.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and analysis under supervision.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related scientific field.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of foundational coursework in food chemistry, microbiology, or food processing.
- Familiarity with HACCP principles or GMPs.
- Prior experience in a laboratory or food manufacturing environment (academic projects or volunteer work are relevant).
