Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified Foreign Language Teachers to join our dedicated team. This exciting opportunity is open to educators proficient in Spanish, French, or Mandarin. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging and culturally rich learning experiences for students, fostering a love for language acquisition and global understanding. This is an on-site position within our schools in Spokane Valley, Washington. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum that meets district and state standards for foreign language instruction.
- Deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction in Spanish, French, or Mandarin to diverse learners.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and culturally immersive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school administration to support student success.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and district-wide initiatives.
- Integrate technology effectively to enhance language learning.
- Prepare students for regional and national language competitions or proficiency exams as appropriate.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Foreign Language, or a related field
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement for Spanish, French, or Mandarin
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish, French, or Mandarin (one of the three)
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or a relevant foreign language discipline
- Fluency in more than one of the specified foreign languages (Spanish, French, Mandarin)
- Previous experience teaching foreign language at the K-12 level
- Experience with diverse student populations
- Familiarity with proficiency-based language instruction methods
