Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Frontend React Developer to join our innovative technology team in Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of critical financial applications, impacting users across the globe. You will be responsible for building user-friendly and highly performant web interfaces, collaborating closely with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain highly responsive user interface components using React.js and modern web technologies.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and mockups into pixel-perfect and functional user interfaces.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
- Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and services.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with team members.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Debug and resolve technical issues, ensuring high performance and responsiveness of applications.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and industry trends.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+)
- Strong experience with React.js and its core principles (Hooks, Context API, etc.)
- Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS3 (including preprocessors like Sass or Less)
- Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX, Recoil)
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Ability to write unit and integration tests (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TypeScript
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Knowledge of UI/UX principles and best practices
- Experience with build tools like Webpack or Vite
- Understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Experience in the financial services industry is a plus but not required
