Job Description

The Government Justice Support Officer, with a Compliance Focus, plays a crucial role within the NSW Department of Communities and Justice in Griffith. This position involves providing administrative, operational, and compliance support to various justice programs and initiatives. You will be instrumental in ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, contributing to the integrity and effectiveness of justice services delivered to the community. This full-time, on-site role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to public service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monitoring and auditing of justice-related programs for compliance with established guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to compliance activities.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding compliance matters.
  • Support the development and implementation of compliance frameworks and training materials.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations into compliance breaches and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify areas for process improvement in compliance monitoring.
  • Provide general administrative support to the justice support team, including scheduling and data entry.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in administrative or support roles, preferably in a regulatory or government environment.
  • Strong understanding of compliance principles and record-keeping best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Australian Citizenship or permanent residency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant diploma or certificate in legal studies, public administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with government justice systems or compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation and information security protocols.
