Job Description
Are you an experienced HGV driver looking for a new career path? Roadways Training Solutions is seeking motivated individuals to join our HGV Instructor Trainee programme in Llansamlet, Swansea. This is an incredible opportunity to transition from driving to instructing, where you will receive comprehensive, fully funded training to become a qualified HGV Driving Instructor. We are looking for individuals with a passion for teaching and a commitment to road safety, ready to take on a rewarding and impactful role.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate fully in the intensive HGV Instructor training program.
- Develop a deep and comprehensive understanding of HGV driving regulations, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Shadow qualified instructors during practical driving lessons and theoretical classroom sessions to gain hands-on experience.
- Assist in the preparation of training materials, ensuring vehicles are safe and ready for instruction.
- Learn and apply effective methods for delivering engaging and clear driving instruction to a diverse range of candidates.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and safety at all times within the training environment.
- Actively seek feedback and continuously work on personal and professional development throughout the training period.
Required Skills
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
- Minimum of 2 years recent, demonstrable HGV driving experience.
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
- A genuine passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing the skills of others.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and exceptional observational skills.
- A strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a mentoring, coaching, or supervisory role.
- Basic IT literacy, including proficiency with standard office software for record-keeping and administrative tasks.
- A clean driving record with no penalty points or endorsements.
