Job Description
Join our dedicated night crew as a Highway Maintenance Night Worker in Victorville, CA. This crucial role involves maintaining and repairing state highways and roadways during off-peak hours to minimize disruption to traffic. You will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the safety and longevity of our infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labor tasks related to highway maintenance, including patching potholes, repairing guardrails, and clearing debris.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with traffic control setup and breakdown, ensuring safety for both crew and passing motorists.
- Participate in emergency response efforts, such as clearing road hazards or assisting with accident scenes.
- Conduct routine inspections of roadways and report any issues or damage.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, wearing provided PPE at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Required Skills
- Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow instructions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Commitment to working safely and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or general labor.
- Experience operating light to medium construction equipment (e.g., skid steers, loaders).
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
