Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hospitalist Doctor to join our dynamic medical team in Redcliffe. This ward-based role offers a flexible roster, allowing for a balanced lifestyle while contributing to high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for the comprehensive medical management of inpatients, working collaboratively with nurses, allied health professionals, and specialist consultants to ensure optimal outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to admitted patients on assigned wards.
- Conduct daily ward rounds, assess patient conditions, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments in accordance with best practice guidelines.
- Collaborate with specialist consultants to manage complex patient cases.
- Facilitate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring seamless transitions of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding their diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to junior medical staff where appropriate.
Required Skills
- Current AHPRA Medical Registration (unrestricted)
- Fellowship or equivalent specialist qualifications (e.g., FRACP) or working towards them.
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate clinical experience in an Australian hospital setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage acute and chronic medical conditions effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities.
