Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Disability Employment Consultant to join our dedicated team in Campbelltown. This ‘Skilled’ role requires a proven track record in employment services, particularly in supporting individuals with disabilities to overcome barriers to employment. You will manage a caseload of job seekers, providing tailored support, advocacy, and job placement services. Your expertise will be crucial in building strong relationships with local employers and community partners to create sustainable employment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an active caseload of job seekers with disabilities, providing individualised support and guidance.
- Develop and implement comprehensive job plans, including resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Engage with employers to identify suitable job vacancies and promote the benefits of inclusive hiring practices.
- Conduct thorough assessments of job seeker skills, capabilities, and employment barriers.
- Provide post-placement support to ensure successful job retention for both job seekers and employers.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in line with organisational and funding body requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide holistic support to job seekers.
- Participate in continuous professional development to stay abreast of industry best practices and legislative changes.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years experience in disability employment services or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in achieving employment outcomes for job seekers with disabilities.
- Strong understanding of disability employment policy and funding models (e.g., DES, NDIS).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with diverse individuals and employers.
- Proficiency in using case management systems and standard office software.
- Valid Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Employment Services, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of the local Campbelltown job market and community resources.
- Experience with vocational assessment tools and techniques.
