Job Description
We are seeking empathetic and reliable In-Home Support Workers to join our dedicated team in Karratha. This casual role focuses on providing essential support to local clients, enabling them to live comfortably and independently in their own homes. You will work flexible day shifts, assisting with a variety of tasks that enhance our clients’ quality of life. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference in your community, with full training provided for those new to the care sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including showering, dressing, and grooming, while maintaining client dignity.
- Assist with light domestic duties such as meal preparation, laundry, and general household tidying.
- Offer companionship and social support, engaging clients in activities and conversation.
- Provide transport assistance for appointments, shopping, and community outings.
- Monitor and report any changes in client health, well-being, or home environment to supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to individual care plans, organisational policies, and safety protocols.
- Maintain clear and respectful communication with clients, their families, and the care team.
Required Skills
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A genuine desire to help and support vulnerable individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability, or Home and Community Care).
- Previous experience in a care-related role or with a vulnerable population.
- Understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and needs.
