Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Incident Response Coordinator to join our dynamic team within the transport industry. This pivotal role involves coordinating swift and effective responses to operational incidents across our transport networks, minimizing disruption, ensuring public safety, and maintaining service integrity. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing communications, escalating issues, and documenting incident resolutions in a fast-paced environment. This position offers a high hourly rate, reflecting the critical nature of the role and the expertise required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all transport-related incidents, receiving and triaging reports promptly.
  • Coordinate incident response efforts with internal teams, emergency services, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication to relevant parties regarding incident status, impacts, and resolution.
  • Document all incident details, actions taken, and outcomes in accordance with established protocols.
  • Lead post-incident reviews to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency procedures, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Utilize incident management software and communication tools effectively.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in incident management or emergency coordination, preferably within the transport or logistics sector.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-stress environment.
  • Proficiency in using incident management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated understanding of operational safety principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Incident Command System (ICS) or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with public transport operations.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian transport regulations and standards.
