Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Industrial Electrician to join our dynamic team in Calgary, Alberta. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our advanced industrial equipment and systems. You will perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical components within our facilities, adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to our continuous production goals and plant optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical equipment and control systems in an industrial setting.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and code specifications to determine wiring layouts.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
- Perform preventative maintenance programs and keep accurate records.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and provincial electrical codes (e.g., Canadian Electrical Code).
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to resolve electrical issues and improve system reliability.
- Participate in commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician certification or equivalent recognized by provincial authorities.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting industrial control systems, motors, PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and industrial safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Eligibility for Certificate of Sponsorship (specific criteria apply).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific PLC platforms (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens).
- High voltage experience.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and process control.
- Prior experience in the agriculture, mining, or chemical processing industry.
- Forklift and aerial work platform certifications.
