Job Description

Capgemini is seeking a talented and motivated Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team in Dundee. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our critical IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with various teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions that support our business objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage server, network, and storage infrastructure components.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
  • Automate routine tasks and deployment processes using scripting and configuration management tools.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of infrastructure systems through best practices and regular audits.
  • Collaborate with development teams to provide infrastructure support for applications and services.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for critical incident response and problem resolution.
  • Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on our infrastructure.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in administering Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, RHCSA, or AWS/Azure certifications.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix).
