Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Electrical Cadet Intern to join our Major Projects team in Port Lincoln, South Australia. This internship provides an invaluable opportunity for a current Electrical Engineering student to gain hands-on experience within a dynamic project environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers, contributing to the successful delivery of large-scale electrical infrastructure projects. This role is designed for individuals with a strong desire to learn, grow, and apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting, with full training and mentorship provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Electrical Engineers with design, planning, and documentation tasks for major projects.
- Conduct site inspections and gather data related to electrical systems and installations.
- Support in the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
- Learn and apply company safety procedures and quality standards on all tasks.
- Assist with the coordination of materials and equipment for electrical works.
- Perform basic calculations and analyses under supervision.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering degree program (or similar relevant discipline).
- Strong academic record with a GPA of 4.0 or higher (out of 7.0) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to safety and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous volunteer or extracurricular experience demonstrating teamwork and initiative.
- Basic understanding of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Valid Australian driver's license.
- An expressed interest in heavy industrial or resource sector projects.
