Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Inventory Control Clerk to join our dynamic team at our Wetherill Park Distribution Centre. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring the smooth flow of goods. As an Inventory Control Clerk, you will be responsible for physical inventory counts, data entry into our warehouse management system, and investigating discrepancies. This is a hands-on operational role focused on precision and efficiency, primarily involving internal processes and data management. Successful candidates must be prepared to work a rotating shift roster, including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends, to support our 24/7 operations. Please note, this role does not involve direct customer phone interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cycle counts and full physical inventory counts as scheduled.
- Accurately record inventory movements, adjustments, and transfers within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Generate and analyse inventory reports to support operational decision-making.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe inventory storage area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations, dispatch, and receiving teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
Required Skills
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written communication skills for reporting and documentation.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 15kg.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory control role.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar inventory software.
- Current Forklift License (LF or LO class) and experience operating forklifts.
- Understanding of inventory control principles and practices.
