Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Inventory Control Clerk to join our team in Port Augusta. This full-time position involves managing inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock records, and supporting efficient warehouse operations through shift work. The ideal candidate will be reliable, meticulous, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment without direct customer phone interaction. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or advance their career in logistics and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain precise inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and dispatching inventory.
- Prepare reports on inventory levels and discrepancies.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (training provided if needed).
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize inventory flow.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages up to 20kg.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or inventory role (desirable but not essential).
- Familiarity with inventory management software or WMS.
- Forklift license (LF class) or willingness to obtain one.
