This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting seamless warehouse operations through shift work.
Job Description
As an Inventory Data Specialist, you will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a warehouse setting, including participation in various shifts (day, afternoon, night, weekends) as required by operational needs. You will be a key player in ensuring our inventory systems reflect real-time stock levels, supporting efficient picking, packing, and dispatch processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of all inventory movements (receipts, issues, adjustments).
- Reconcile physical inventory counts with system records, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist in the planning and execution of regular cycle counts and annual stocktakes.
- Generate and review inventory reports to monitor stock levels, aging, and movement trends.
- Maintain the integrity of item master data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Communicate effectively with warehouse operations, dispatch, and customer service teams regarding inventory status.
- Identify and flag potential inventory issues or bottlenecks to management.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and operational procedures within the warehouse environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an inventory, data entry, or warehouse administration role.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Understanding of basic supply chain and logistics principles.
- Forklift license (LF) or willingness to obtain one.
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
