Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Journalist to join our newsroom in Swansea. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in identifying, researching, and reporting on stories that resonate with our local audience. From breaking news and investigations to community features and local events, you will be expected to cover a wide range of topics, utilizing both traditional journalistic methods and modern digital platforms. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to journalistic ethics.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate original story ideas and pursue leads relevant to the Swansea community.
- Conduct thorough research, interviews, and investigations to gather accurate and compelling information.
- Write clear, concise, and engaging news articles, features, and reports for print and digital platforms.
- Verify facts, sources, and information to ensure accuracy and uphold journalistic standards.
- Utilize multimedia tools, including photography and video, to enhance storytelling.
- Manage and update content on our website and social media channels.
- Attend press conferences, council meetings, court hearings, and other local events as required.
- Build and maintain relationships with key community figures, sources, and stakeholders.

- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and other journalists to produce high-quality content.
