Job Description
Are you eager to kickstart your career in hospitality but have no prior experience? Hog’s Breath Cafe Dalby is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Hands to join our friendly team! This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity where full training will be provided. You’ll be an essential part of our kitchen operations, helping to maintain a clean and efficient workspace, ensuring our chefs can deliver high-quality meals to our valued customers. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and sweeping/mopping floors.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently after receiving appropriate training.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of food items and kitchen supplies.
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining an organised and tidy workspace throughout service.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies diligently.
- Handle waste disposal in an appropriate and timely manner.
Required Skills
- No prior experience required – full, comprehensive training will be provided!
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively within a fast-paced team environment.
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of hygiene principles or a keen willingness to learn rapidly and apply them.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (e.g., from a short course or prior informal learning).
- Previous experience in any customer service or fast-paced environment (e.g., retail).
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per roster.
