Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Linen Chute Clearer to join our team in Airdrie. This vital role involves working in the hotel basement, primarily focusing on the efficient management and clearing of our linen chutes. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the free flow of soiled linens, resolving blockages, and assisting with the sorting and movement of laundry. This position requires regular heavy lifting and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role. Key Responsibilities
- Regularly monitor and clear linen chutes to prevent and resolve blockages.
- Perform heavy lifting of soiled linen bags and move them to designated laundry areas.
- Operate linen carts and trolleys safely and efficiently.
- Assist with the initial sorting of various types of linen (towels, sheets, etc.).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the linen management areas of the hotel basement.
- Report any chute malfunctions, structural issues, or safety concerns immediately to supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all hotel safety and operational protocols.
- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure daily tasks are completed.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform heavy and repetitive lifting (up to 50 lbs consistently).
- Excellent physical stamina and endurance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues.
