Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Live-In Carer to provide dedicated support to our clients in the Vancouver area. This pivotal role involves residing with a client to offer continuous care, companionship, and assistance with daily living activities. Key Responsibilities
- Provide continuous personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and client care plans.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry and maintaining a clean living environment.
- Offer companionship, emotional support, and engaging in stimulating activities.
- Accompany clients to appointments and social outings.
- Monitor and report changes in client's health or behavior to family members and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and client observations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of professional caregiving experience, preferably in a live-in capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to provide personal care, medication assistance, and meal preparation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to care.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Clean criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with clients living with dementia or specific medical conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
