Job Description
Join Purolator as a Loading Bay Operative for an immediate start on our night shift team in Montreal! This is an excellent opportunity for highly motivated and reliable individuals looking to begin a career in logistics, with full training provided. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of parcels and freight within our busy loading bay. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload trailers using various material handling equipment or by hand.
- Sort and scan packages and freight according to destination and shipping requirements.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damages or discrepancies.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment as required (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized loading bay area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as transportation regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of all shipments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 70 lbs) frequently throughout the shift.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and twisting for extended periods.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels and instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
- Must be available for night shift hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is an asset.
- Forklift operator certification or experience operating similar material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of basic inventory procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
