Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our warehousing and distribution operations in Peterborough. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of logistics, from inbound freight to outbound delivery, ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of logistics processes and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize daily logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to achieve operational goals.
  • Oversee the maintenance and security of the logistics facility and equipment.
  • Implement new technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Logistics Manager or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Full UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., CILT, APICS).
  • Experience with lean methodologies or Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with international logistics and customs procedures.
