Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and analytical Management Accountant to join our team in St Austell, Cornwall. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health and strategic decision-making of our local operations. You will be responsible for preparing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and providing insightful financial analysis to various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Provide variance analysis, explaining differences between actual results and budget/forecast.
  • Support decision-making by providing robust financial analysis and commentary to department heads.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
  • Assist with year-end audit preparations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel (advanced).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACCA, CIMA, ACA part-qualified or fully qualified.
  • Experience within the financial services sector.
  • Knowledge of UK financial regulations.
