Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and analytical Management Accountant to join our team in St Austell, Cornwall. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health and strategic decision-making of our local operations. You will be responsible for preparing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and providing insightful financial analysis to various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Provide variance analysis, explaining differences between actual results and budget/forecast.
- Support decision-making by providing robust financial analysis and commentary to department heads.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
- Assist with year-end audit preparations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel (advanced).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA part-qualified or fully qualified.
- Experience within the financial services sector.
- Knowledge of UK financial regulations.
