Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated High School Mathematics Teacher to join our dynamic team for the upcoming academic year. This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significant impact on students’ mathematical understanding and foster a love for learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging mathematics curriculum to students in grades 9-12, preparing them for post-secondary education and future careers. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with Alberta Education curriculum standards for high school mathematics.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and challenging classroom environment conducive to learning for diverse student needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student success and well-being.
- Participate in school activities, professional development, and extra-curricular programs as required.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to meet different learning styles.
Required Skills
- Valid Alberta teaching certificate or eligibility for one.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge and passion for high school mathematics curriculum (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Statistics).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or Mathematics.
- Previous experience teaching high school mathematics.
- Experience with diverse student populations and inclusive teaching practices.
- Proficiency in educational technology and online learning platforms.
