Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Meals on Wheels Coordinator to join our Community Services team in Truro. This vital role involves overseeing the daily operations of our Meals on Wheels program, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of nutritious meals to elderly and vulnerable residents across the area. You will be the central point of contact for clients, volunteers, and delivery staff, playing a crucial part in maintaining a high standard of service and promoting community well-being. This position requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and a genuine commitment to supporting our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily meal delivery schedules and routes for volunteers and staff.
  • Manage client meal orders, dietary requirements, and special requests.
  • Recruit, train, and support a team of dedicated volunteers.
  • Maintain accurate records of clients, meals delivered, and volunteer hours.
  • Liaise with clients, their families, and care providers to address concerns and ensure satisfaction.
  • Monitor inventory of meals and supplies, placing orders as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to the program, including reporting and communication.
  • Act as a point of contact for inquiries and feedback regarding the service.
