Pawsitive Mobile Grooming in Cape Coral, FL, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mobile Dog Groomer’s Bather / Assistant to join our growing team. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals with little to no prior grooming experience to learn the art of professional dog grooming from experienced professionals. As a Bather / Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our furry clients, assisting our lead groomers, and learning valuable skills that can lead to a fulfilling career path. We provide comprehensive, paid training to help you master bathing techniques, pet handling, and preparation for advanced grooming skills. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead groomer with all aspects of dog grooming, including bathing, drying, brushing, and preparing dogs for grooming services.
- Handle dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments safely and compassionately.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the mobile grooming van and all equipment before, during, and after appointments.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including laundry and restocking supplies.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns.
- Monitor pets for any signs of stress or health issues, reporting observations to the lead groomer.
- Actively participate in paid training sessions to develop professional grooming techniques and knowledge.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- A genuine love for animals and a passion for their well-being.
- Ability to lift and handle dogs weighing up to 50 lbs independently and larger dogs with assistance.
- Comfortable working with various dog breeds and temperaments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mobile environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to our central dispatch location in Cape Coral.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with animal handling (e.g., pet owner, volunteer at a shelter, vet assistant).
- Customer service experience.
- Basic knowledge of dog breeds and their specific grooming needs.
