Job Description
Are you seeking a dynamic role where no two days are the same? Outback Oasis Motels is looking for an enthusiastic and versatile Motel All-Rounder to join our team in picturesque Cairns, QLD. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals eager to learn all aspects of motel operations, from front desk to housekeeping and maintenance, within a supportive and friendly environment. If you’re a proactive problem-solver with a can-do attitude, we want to hear from you! Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for someone looking to start or grow their career in hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting guests warmly, handling check-ins/check-outs, and managing reservations.
- Assisting guests with inquiries, providing local information, and ensuring a pleasant stay.
- Performing general housekeeping duties, including cleaning rooms, common areas, and laundry.
- Assisting with basic maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting issues to management.
- Preparing and serving continental breakfast, if applicable.
- Handling cash and card payments accurately and reconciling daily accounts.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the front desk and public areas.
- Adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn diverse tasks.
- Basic computer proficiency for reservations and check-ins.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is a bonus, but not essential.
- First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of local attractions and services in Cairns.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
