Job Description
Join our agricultural team as a Mushroom Picker at our state-of-the-art indoor farm facility in Tampa, Florida. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking stable, year-round employment in a controlled environment. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive training for all new associates. You will be responsible for the careful harvesting and initial processing of a variety of mushrooms, ensuring quality and efficiency in every step. This role offers consistent hours, a comfortable indoor setting away from weather extremes, and the chance to contribute to a vital part of our fresh produce supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully identify and harvest mature mushrooms according to established quality standards and procedures.
- Sort, trim, and package mushrooms as required, ensuring product integrity and presentation.
- Adhere to strict sanitation and food safety guidelines at all times within the indoor farm.
- Monitor mushroom growth and report any anomalies or issues to supervisory staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the facility.
- Operate basic farm equipment safely after receiving proper training.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily production targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly throughout a shift.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site in Tampa, Florida.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or agricultural setting (not required, but a plus).
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or HACCP principles.
- Basic understanding of plant care or horticulture.
